Balloons

Balloons always lift my spirits. One of the more joyful experiences of my photographic journey was the morning I spent photographing a handful of hot air balloons. The pleasing pear shape, the riotous colors, the soft whoosh of the burners, and the majestic panorama of balloons soaring across the sky left me giddy.

Small, party balloons, with their association with birthdays and other festive ocassions, also delight me. When I was a small child helium balloons seemed so magical with their disdain for gravity. Whether red, blue, white, or green, balloons are just one of life’s unalloyed joys.
